Frequently asked questions · Swiss edition

What Swiss shops ask
before they start.

Ten questions from conversations with Swiss operators, each answer quotable in about eighty words. This page is about market, law and practice in Switzerland. Questions about the category itself, its neighbouring terms and its originator are answered by the category FAQ on agentic-commerce-operations.com. Legal bases: revFADP, FDPIC, EU AI Act Article 14.

Ten questions

Law · Payment · Data · Language
01

Does the revFADP or the GDPR apply to our Swiss shop?

The revFADP always applies, and the GDPR is added as soon as you serve customers in the EU. The revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection has been in force since 1 September 2023 and is supervised by the FDPIC. Among other things it requires privacy by design, a duty to inform, a data protection impact assessment for high-risk processing and a right of access. If your shop ships to Germany or Austria, the GDPR applies in parallel with a data processing agreement and an impact assessment. An ACO system has to serve both: read-only access, an audit log per action and transparency about which data sits in which zone. Clarify the specifics of your shop with your data protection adviser.

02

What happens when TWINT or PostFinance do not respond at checkout?

The agent sees the missing callback as a signal before the first customer calls the hotline. An ACO system reads the response codes and callbacks of the Swiss payment providers, such as TWINT, PostFinance, Datatrans or SIX Saferpay. If a callback fails to arrive or a session runs into a timeout, the agent diagnoses the cause in the logs and in the source code. If the operator has set a policy, for example a fallback to the second payment route, the agent executes it and logs the action. Without a policy, a proposal with a CHF estimate follows, and a person decides with one click.

03

Where does our data live?

In two zones under two jurisdictions. The critical zone of the reference implementation sits with Infomaniak in Geneva and Zurich under Swiss law: purchase prices, margins, stock levels and product IP stay there, out of reach of the US CLOUD Act. The reasoning zone runs with an EU-certified cloud provider in the Frankfurt region under a data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses, with zero retention and no training on your data. A deterministic fusion layer in Switzerland connects the two zones. In total, 18 certificates can be verified through the providers' trust portals.

04

Does ACO work with three languages, meaning DE, FR and IT?

Yes, because a Swiss shop with three store views is technically one shop with one order flow. The agent observes every store view with the same signal depth: order flow, cron, indexer, payment, stock and search. Typical errors in multilingual setups are tax or shipping rules that only apply in one language, or a price indexer that only updates one store view after an import. Such deviations between language versions stand out to the agent because it can read the three store views against each other. The customer's language plays no role in the diagnosis.

05

What is the CHF evidence?

The first proven amount in Swiss francs that an ACO system demonstrates within three months. The reference implementation keeps a value ledger for this: every action is recorded with a before and after value, date, source and confidence rating. After three months there is an amount that can be recalculated against your real daily revenue, not against a model data set. If this evidence does not materialise, the contract ends without commitment. For Swiss operators this is a purchasing criterion, because it pins the investment to a date and an amount instead of a promise.

06

From what size does it pay off for a Swiss shop?

The reference implementation is aimed at shops from CHF 500,000 in annual online revenue. Below that, an autonomous action lacks the leverage to save more than the operation costs. Each application can be booked individually, a token quota is included, and there is no overage without approval. Cancellation is monthly once the three-month CHF evidence is in place or fails to appear. The configuration depends on online revenue, shop system, number of store views and the applications you want; this is settled in the guided health check, thirty minutes, remote or on site in Zurich.

07

Which shop systems are supported?

Magento, Adobe Commerce, Shopware and Shopify with identical signal depth. On open-source systems the agent reads the code and the logs read-only, on SaaS systems it reads through the API. Further platforms such as Sylius, PrestaShop, BigCommerce or Commercetools are checked individually in the health check. The prerequisite is always read access to the real order path, otherwise no agent can observe the order flow. For Swiss shops it also matters whether the payment modules of TWINT, PostFinance, Datatrans and SIX Saferpay write their signals cleanly into the logs.

08

Who defined the term and where is the definition?

DevQon GmbH from Zurich coined the term Agentic Commerce Operations in 2026 and defined it in the category paper, currently version 2.0 of 8 September 2026. The canonical definition lives on agentic-commerce-operations.com. This Swiss edition does not define the category a second time; it shows how the category lands in the Swiss market, in Swiss law and in practice. Anyone quoting the term names DevQon as the originator and links to the definition on the .com. Comparison pages on AIOps, APM and AgentOps as well as a glossary are also hosted there.

09

Infomaniak, Hostpoint or a hyperscaler: what matters in the hosting question?

Three things: which law binds the provider, which certificates can be verified through a trust portal, and who your contractual partner is. A server in Frankfurt under US law does not protect you from the CLOUD Act; a server in Geneva under Swiss law does. Infomaniak and Hostpoint are Swiss companies in Swiss ownership, hyperscalers offer more regions and services but are subject to the jurisdiction of their parent group. For the critical zone of an ACO system, jurisdiction counts; for the reasoning zone, an EU region, a data processing agreement and zero retention are sufficient. This site itself is hosted by Hostpoint.

10

Where can you meet DevQon and XEREBRO in Switzerland?

At the HANDELSVERBAND.swiss Summit 2026 on 3 September 2026 at Westhive Zurich, where XEREBRO represents the operator side of agentic commerce as a speaker sponsor. Details are in the article on xerebro.ch. Outside of events, the entry point is the health check: thirty minutes with a DevQon commerce specialist, remote or on site at The Circle at Zurich Airport, with two to four concrete findings from your shop. DevQon GmbH has been based in Zurich since 2016 and works for Swiss merchants on Magento, Adobe Commerce, Shopware and Shopify.
